Overview
Long and bouncy with his best
years ahead of him…solid ball-handler and above the rim finisher...best in
traffic, but can knock down shots from outside...Steve
is a complete player...defensively, he's capable of staying with smaller players
and big enough to guard the post...plays with a high basketball IQ...totally
unselfish team player...Wilmers' vertical leap is jaw-dropping.

Prep at Lapeer East High School where he earned
Metro League unanimous First Team All
Metro League selection as a junior...was co-captain while averaging 14
points and nine rebounds per game...as a sophomore earned Metro League
Honorable Mention...played for Wolverine Basketball Club out of Flint, MI in
June/July 2006, which earned second place at the Adidas 64 18 & Under Tournament
in Columbus, OH and second place at Aim High 18 & Under Tournament in Lansing,
MI.
Off the Court
Volunteer for the Lapeer Optimist Club, helping with community projects...volunteer for Lapeer East Fitness Center committee...helped with projects that raised money to build a new fitness center for the high school...varsity soccer goalie with 15 shutouts breaking an all time school record...Metro League Honorable Mention and named to the All District team in soccer...varsity tennis as a Freshman and Sophomore earning Metro League Second Team, MVP, and First Place at Port Huron Invitational...varsity golf as a Freshman and Sophomore...involved in a college preparatory program and has been a scholar athlete every season...currently taking AP courses...went 21-3 in his senior season on the tennis court and now holds the school record for career wins.
